Flu Season Update: How Rhode Island Is Doing & Our Prevention Steps

Flu Season Update: How Rhode Island Is Doing & Our Prevention Steps

Flu season is in full swing across the United States, and Rhode Island continues to experience very high flu activity, with hundreds of hospitalizations reported statewide. Health officials are urging residents, especially caregivers and older adults to stay vigilant as respiratory illnesses remain elevated.

At Nurturing Hearts Homecare, protecting our clients and caregivers is our top priority. Because many of the individuals we serve are medically vulnerable, we’ve strengthened our seasonal infection‑control measures to help reduce the spread of influenza.

What We’re Doing to Keep Everyone Safe

  • Providing masks to caregivers and encouraging use during all client visits
  • Reinforcing proper handwashing and supplying hand sanitizer for field staff
  • Hosting employee seminars on flu symptoms, prevention, and PPE use
  • Encouraging vaccination and sharing resources to help staff access flu shots

These steps help us maintain a safe, healthy environment for our clients, their families, and our team.

Thank you to all our caregivers for your dedication and commitment to keeping our community protected this flu season.
